Getting Started

To use Preppy you'll need a working perl interpreter installed. By default Perl is shipped with FreeBSD. For linux you can add the perl package or compile from source.

Source files are with the extension ".txt", and project file is with the extension ".vpj". The minimum you need to get Preppy works in a project file,a template file and source file(s). But it's highly recommended to have a tag file and a definition file as well. (they'll be explained later)

It's advisable to divide HTML files and other files (images, binaries). As in this case, you can have multiple version of source files while using only one copy of binaries to save space and time of uploading.

A typical directory structure is like below:

Preppy/
------/in
------/out
----------/img
----------/ie
----------/netscape
----------/default
